Jaden’s Ladder hosts first tennis Tournament Benefit

Organization seeks to raise critical funds to continue to break the cycle of domestic violence

Rye, NH – January 26, 2010 – Oneta Bobbett, founder of Jaden’s Ladder, teamed up with a committee of seacoast tennis players, Brad Wiggin, Katherine McDonnell, Amy Kennedy, Lisa Urdanoff and Trish Ruffner, and coaches, Chris Stevens and Kevin Christian of the Wentworth Country Club, to create the very first Jaden’s Ladder Tennis Tournament. The event will take place Saturday, January 30th from 5:00-10:00 p.m. at the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club indoor sports center. The cost is $75 per person and 100% of the proceeds will benefit Jaden’s Ladder.

The event will include a half hour warm up with a tennis pro followed by two hours of tennis. “This is no ordinary tournament”, said Chris Stevens, Director of the Wentworth Tennis Program. “There will be mixed ability players on each team and we have thrown in some loop holes and surprises to make it fun and raise money while we are playing”. Tennis celebrities Tom Blake and Terry London (Harvard University Coach) will join the event for the evening assisting with warm up and play! After the tennis wraps up, the evening will continue with hors d‘oeuvres, dancing, music by DJ Jody, and a silent auction featuring tickets to the US Open finals and The Oprah Winfrey Show among many other wonderful items.

The Wentworth Country Club has graciously donated the sports facility for the evening. BMW of Stratham is the main sponsor and will shuttle all attendees in a variety of new models from the upper parking lot to the sports center. Other sponsors of the event include Allen Wayside Furniture, Chrisrial and Co. Fine Jewelry, Karl and Leslie Ann Hahn, Hebert Brothers Seafood, Reprise Limousine, The Skin Wellness Center at Atlantic Plastic Surgery, and The 100 Club.
